The Blue Tiger at the Ilsington Hotel offers a wide range of dishes at middle range prices.  For a special meal, book one of the window seats in the main hotel dining room.  The views are exceptional, looking up to Haytor Rocks.  It takes around 20 minutes to walk or 5 minutes to drive.

The Carpenter’s Arms, Ilsington is probably 25 minutes’ walk or a 5 minute drive.  Friendly local pub with Devon character and good ales.  Good pub food.

The Cleave at Lustleigh  is situated in one of the most idyllic villages in Devon (probably in the UK).  Take time to walk around the village and soak in the atmosphere.  Reasonably priced food and a great ambiance.

The Rugglestone Inn at Widecombe in the Moor is another experience that attracts people from miles away because of its unique character.  Perfect for lunchtime or evening meals in the garden in a beautiful setting. Reasonably priced food and an interesting menu.

The Old Inn at Widecombe is very popular in the summer with a large garden and several bars.  Wide range of food choices.

There are numerous other places to eat in Bovey Tracey, Ashburton, Moretonhampstead, Newton Abbot and Torquay. For a real treat, the Riverford Farm Kitchen near Totnes  is a gourmet delight and reasonably priced. You may need to book in advance.
